"We have our jury," Judge Juan Merchan said after the 12th juror was selected on Thursday (April 18) in former President Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial.
The jury consists of seven men and five women.
The day got off to a rough start as two seated jurors were dismissed. One woman asked to be dismissed because information about her identity was posted online, and she felt she could no longer be impartial. Another juror was removed over questions about his criminal history.
Before the court adjourned for the day, one alternate juror was selected. They will choose the remaining alternate jurors when the trial resumes on Friday.
Judge Merchan also hopes to hold a Sandoval hearing on Friday to discuss whether previous bad acts can be brought up during the trial.
Trump addressed the media before leaving the courthouse. He blasted the trial and said he should be out on the campaign trail.
"I'm supposed to be in New Hampshire, I'm supposed to be in Georgia, I'm supposed to be in North Carolina, South Carolina. I'm supposed to be in a lot of different places campaigning, but I've been here all day on a trial that really is a very unfair trial," he said.
"This is not a case; the case is ridiculous," he added.
