What's happening around the area!

MSA United Way and their Women’s Leadership Circle will participate in the nationwide United Way Day of Action. On Friday, June 21, volunteers will be collecting food items to help provide nutritious meals to local children, who would otherwise lack access to regular, healthy meals when school is not in session.  If you would like to participate in United Way’s Day of Action call United Way at 255-3601. Answer the call to action and LIVE UNITED.

12th Annual KFYR Radio Tractor Trek!

Tractor Trek is a showcase of tractors from days gone by.  Friday, June 14th participants will begin to gather at Buckstop Junction on the east side of Bismarck around 8:00 am. There'll be plenty of "iron horses" and plenty of reminiscing. Over 140 tractors are expected this year! First group of tractors is scheduled to set out from Buckstop Junction at about 9 am and should return around 3 pm. KFYR Radio invites interested spectators to come out and view the tractors at that time.

Jessica Voll Pfeifer was diagnosed with Stage II Breast cancer in November 2012, mastectomy in January 2013 with additional surgeries in her future she is undergoing chemo and will be starting radiation in July 2013.

 
There will be a silent auction, Bike wash, bike show(first 10), a dunking booth, watermelon eating contest for the kids and adults, watermelon bowling, Prizes be given out.  All activities are free will donation only!  Activities will take place from Noon to around 5pm at Hooters in Bismarck.

THE EVENT!!

Join in the most extreme obstacle race to hit ND! The Event at Huff Hills Ski Area will feature nearly 3 miles of course, with 12 crazy and challenging obstacles! This race isn't about getting in shape, or changing your life, it's about having FUN! Get ready to have your best day EVER! Race will be broken into waves, with the first wave tentatively scheduled to depart at 3:00 PM.  The race will continue all day, and will feature great music, food and of course beer!  A portion of the proceeds will support the Bismarck Cancer Center to promote the fight against cancer, and support LOCAL cancer survivors! Capital A'Fair is a large summer art fair held on the capital grounds featuring more than 130 artisans. Music, great food, and performing groups contribute to the festive mood. Hours: Saturday 10a - 6p & Sunday 10a - 4p. Admission is free! Click here for more info!

With child health-related expenses?  The UnitedHealthcare Children’s

Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2012 grant program.  Grants, up to $5,000, are available to help families who need financial

Tracy’s Sanctuary House is in need of volunteers and/or donations.  Tracy’s House is open day and night to those individuals that are facing traumatic emergency situations while waiting word on their loved ones who need medical care.  If you would like to donate please consider these items: Office supplies, Bottled Water, Bath Tissue, Pillows, Sheets, Gift Certificates and Monetary donations.  Please call 258-5889 for more info.
